(The Ways Daily)-The family of Peter Biar Ajak, prominent political activist who has spent a year behind bars, deplores injustice, weak judicial system and abuse of power exercised by the administration of South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardit.  In a stern statement issued on Sunday, Nyathon James Hoth, wife to Peter Biar Ajak strongly expressed her dismay at the weakness of the country's judicial system and accused the government of using intimidation as a tool to silence its critics. “For this one year, I have learned, seen and experienced a lot. I have seen what intimidation looks like; I have understood what abuse of power is; I have wept over a weak judicial system; I have realized our constitution means nothing” She pointed that despite the country's decades-long struggle in the country, which culminated in the independence, the government has turned a blind eye to the spirit of comradeship. “Above all, I have come to realized too that comradeship means noth

The Passing On Of Chigach Atem Is Unfortunate.

(The Ways Daily )-- By Lul Gatkuoth Gatluak,  It is unfortunate to learn of the passing of Chigach Atem, he was a man who survived many ordeals. I once heard of the name Chigai Atem around 1984 after coming back from one year stay in Khartoum, that was a time Chigai was made area commander. Second reason his name has been overused was when he engaged to Nyamal Koryom Gil who at the time residence in Chotgur close to this writer village. The third reason his name was overused was because of many court cases he presided over.  During SPLM/A bush days, area commanders are double tasked to serve as judges. The movement started its administration in liberated areas as a torturer organization. The immediate administration priorities were to limit the frequency and intensity of inter community confrontations by establishing an effective system of indirect rule. The movement introduced a system of arm control and policy of gun licensing. Knowing that civil population had acquired

Kiir-Machar meeting is another misinterpretation of conflict by IGAD

(The Ways Daily)- By William Ezekiel, Kiir-Machar meeting is another misinterpretation of conflict by IGAD. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), is increasingly committing another deadliest move against the very peace deal it had brokered to end the suffering in South Sudan. The regional organization, instead of sticking to the proper implementation of the provisions that would lead to more confidence building, mutual understanding and mutual respect among various South Sudanese stakeholders to conflict, is now redefinying, reducing and confining the issue of war into a very narrow corner. The end result of IGAD deliberate confusion to arrival by South Sudanese warring parties, on an everlasting solution to six-year war would be, beyond any reasonable doubt, fragmentation of the country into tribal enclaves and cantonments. Let it be serious or else, it is developing interest in disintegration. IGAD must bear the brand of failure of parties to the deal, to a

South Sudan's Colonel might have used fake bullets- French Expert and Ballistics Specialist

(The Ways Daily)- A French Expert and Ballistics Specialist refutes the video posted by South Sudan Colonel, that he's capable of resisting a bullet of an AK-47 that travels at a speed of 2,500 feet per second. The Ballistics Specialist pointed out that the claims by South Sudan National Security Officer is just a ‘bluster’ and said that if they were real projectiles, the whole of his skull would have been crumbled into fragments.  “It’s clearly just bluster. An eight-gram Kalashnikov bullet travels about 800 metres per second. It doesn’t matter what he claims to be able to do, a real bullet would have shattered his skull. Within medical literature, there are a few cases of people who thought they had special powers and tried to stop bullets with their teeth. That’s the kind of thing this is” The French media channel reported on Friday that, the expert strongly argues that the South Sudanese NSS officer, Angui Karbino Kuanyin might have used an empty cartridge that do

Amb. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth is an Original South Sudanese, not an Ethiopian. A response to the tribal activist Mr. Bol Marol Abuok

(The Ways Daily)  By: Deng Akok Muoradid--First of all, I would like to condemn in the strongest term possible the betrayal and description of the true and potential son of South Sudan as an Ethiopian by the dangerous tribalist Mr. Bol Marol Abuok. The intention of Mr. Bol's article was to tarnish the clean image of Amb. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth without taking into account that social media users are intellectuals who can't be misled with lies and fabricated information. Mr. Bol Marol falsely and impudely described the former minister of petroleum Amb. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth as corrupt, liar, foreigner, womanizer and tribalist. Dear readers, Amb. Ezekiel Lol was born in Malual Gahoth County in Maiwut State not in Gambella as claimed by Mr. Bol Marol in his fake article. He then served in the SPLA before migrating to United States of America as a young man, in search of better education.
